The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials Scholarship Essay Contest: This scholarship was created to enhance awareness of the importance of the plumbing industry. In order to be eligible, applicants must be in their final year of high school. Students who are currently enrolled in a college or vocational program are also eligible for this scholarship. In order to apply, students must write an essay that is between 800 to 1,600 words on the current prompt. The prompt for this year requires students to think about which division they feel is making the largest impact. Students can e-mail their essay and cover page to essay@ prior to May 1 st in order to be considered for this award. In addition, students must show a copy of their full-time schedule in order to prove that they are eligible for this scholarship. All essays must be types and double spaced. The annual Religious Liberty Essay Scholarship Contest engages high school students in church-state issues by directing them to express a point of view on a religious liberty topic. Essays are judged on the depth of their content, the mastery of the topic, and the skill with which they are written. Students should develop a point of view on the issue and demonstrate critical thinking, using appropriate examples, reasons and other evidence to support their position. The annual contest is sponsored by the Religious Liberty Council of the Baptist Joint Committee.
