Nichole M. Smith
Ms. Smith joined the District Attorney’s Office in June 2016 as an Assistant District Attorney. Ms. Smith graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Crime, Law, and Justice along with a double minor in Psychology and Sociology. In 2005, she earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from the Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, where she was an associate editor of the Duquesne Law Review.
From 2005 through 2011, Ms. Smith worked as a Deputy District Attorney in the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office in Harrisburg, prosecuting a wide array of crimes that included homicides, felony domestic violence, and adult sexual assault cases. In 2011 Ms. Smith, who is also admitted to practice in the state of New York, began serving as the special victims’ prosecutor for the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office located in New York’s Southern Tier, handling felony child abuse, adult sexual assault, and domestic violence cases. Most recently, Ms. Smith was named the Senior Attorney for the Steuben County Department of Social Services in Bath, New York where she prosecuted child abuse and neglect cases in Family Court in addition to providing legal counsel and representation to the Commissioner of the Department of Social Services.
